Oooh, remember this math trick for remembering the 9s multiplication table? Teach every kid you know. Don’t remember it? Learn it and teach every kid you know.

1) Hold your hands in front of you, with your palms facing you and fingers spread out.

2) Starting with your left hand, your thumb counts as your 1st finger, your little finger (same hand) is your 5th finger. Continue counting, left to right, so that your thumb on your right hand is your 10th finger.

3) Still with me?

4) For 9 x 4, bend your fourth finger down (the one closer to your little finger).

5) To the left of your bent finger you’ll have 3 fingers sticking up, and to the right you’ll have 6. See that? Answer? 36.

6) Try 9 x 7. Bend your 7th finger over (ring finger on your right hand). 6 fingers sticking up to the left, 3 to the right.

Works all the way up to 9 x 10. No batteries required.
