I spy with my little eye
Something that starts with … eh-eh-eh!

A bright little 6-year-old entertained a room full of adults with round after round of her favorite party game, I Spy. The above version is how she taught us to play.

You eagle-eyed teachers will immediately spy the phonics-inspired variation, but don’t point that out to your fellow partygoers. Just play the game and make a mental note to play it with your next class.

Variations

  • I spy with my little eye something that starts with E! (name the letter)
  • I spy with my little eye something that is green! (name the color)
  • I hear with my little nose ear something that sounds like moo! (name the sound)

******

And, of course, this happy little game is international. Let’s collect languages!

Dutch: Ik zie, ik zie wat jij niet ziet. (I see, I see something you don’t see.)

Japanese:

German: Ich sehe was, was du nicht siehst und das ist grün. [Thanks, Silke!]
