The kids are coming!

The kids are coming! The kids are coming!

For the uninitiated and the blissfully jetlagged, this is indeed an alarming cry.

The kids are coming! The kids are coming!

I don’t know what the colonists did, but I promptly sat up, rubbed my eyes and vaguely realized I’d overslept.

One if by land, two if by sea?

No, just a knock on the door and an announcement that breakfast was ready.

Oh good idea! The colonists ate breakfast before undertaking major events, right? What time is it?

The kids are coming! Tea? I can make tea if you want tea, says my mom.

Most mornings are relaxing, but this morning we had to get up early and eat quickly because…

The kids are coming! The kids are coming!

I eventually grasped the urgency of the matter, I inhaled my breakfast and managed to be dressed just in time.

The kids are coming! The kids…. Wait! They’re here!

Again, I don’t know what the colonists did, but when the kids came, we spent a few giggly moments getting reacquainted. Then we all headed off to the zoo. Later, we napped, watched videos, read books, drew pictures, listened to music, and had Thai food for dinner.

Then the kids went home.

Whew.
