Shoelaces ABCs? Fantastic idea!
Assign each student a letter or two, then send each student home with the diagram. Indicate where the toes are to the letters. Have parents/guardians figure out how to make the shoelace letters.
Then the children can giggle their way back to school the next morning, wearing their shoelace letters on their shoes.
Take pictures!
Got older students?
- Have them spell vocabulary or spelling test words.
- Find your favorite poem and spell each word. That’s what Anton Hecht did (previously…thanks again!).
They got that? Great! Now pull out your favorite Dr. Seuss book, look expectantly at the line of ABC shoes, and start reading.
