Very Superstitious

I’m a bit of a calendar geek.

Did you know you can get all sorts of nifty calendars in all sorts of nifty languages from DLTK’s site? The Valentine’s Day calendar in Latin is beyond cool. (Have you bookmarked that site yet?)

Trivia time: 2008 was a leap year and time keepers added a leap second to clocks at the end of the year (to keep up with the spinning earth). What is special about the calendar for 2009?

It will have 3 Friday the 13ths. Count ’em! Three!

All years have one Friday the 13th, but it’s rare for a year to have three. The last time a year had 3 Friday the 13ths was in 1998, and we’ll see this phenomenon again in 2012 and 2015.

Triskaidekaphobics, mark your calendars now.
