Pop pop popover

In about 10 minutes, it will be apple season.

Time to learn the basic popover recipe, because when the apples are ready, we really have to invite friends over and we can make this apple popover.

Oooh yum.

  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup white flour
  • 1 teaspoon powdered sugar
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 4 eggs
  1. Preheat oven to 400° F/200° C.
  2. Pour the milk into a bowl and whisk in the flour until there are no lumps.
  3. Add the sugar and salt.
  4. Vigorously beat the eggs in one at a time.
  5. Oil a muffin tin or spray it with a baking spray. [Use a popover pan only if you insist. I don’t insist.]
  6. Pour the batter into the cups three-fourths full.
  7. Bake for 20 minutes, the lower the temperature to 350 and bake for another 10 minutes, until a deep golden brown.
  8. Serve them hot with a powdered sugar and a squeeze of lemon juice.
