Telling Time for Toddlers

Excited Toddler: Are we going to Grandma’s house now?

Patient Parent: No, not yet.

Excited Toddler: How about now?

Patient Parent: No, not yet.

Excited Toddler: Now?

Patient Parent: No, not yet.

Excited Toddler: Now?

Patient Parent: No, not yet.

Excited Toddler:…Now?

Patient Parent: No, not yet. Let’s make a Calendar Chain!

Excited Toddler: A what?

Patient Parent: A Calendar Chain!

Excited Toddler:…???

Patient Parent helps the Excited Toddler make a paper chain, one loop to represent each night’s sleep until The Big Day. That last loop is extra big and decorated with colors and stickers and other exciting random objects around the house. Hang the chain up in an important place in the home. Then, together with the toddler, tear off a loop every morning to count down until The Big Day!

Yay and thanks!
