The babies on the bus

We’ve been getting a whole bunch of under-twos at our school. The challenge is to adjust the Super Simple Songs for legs and arms that move a tad slower than the typical pace of the songs.

This version of “The Wheels on the Bus” has been working well! Lie your baby on her back with her feet closest to you. Start here: more verses and gestures on the way!

The wheels on the bus go ’round and ’round [“bicycle” the legs]

The doors on the bus go open and shut [open = spread the arms out to the sides, shut = clap the hands together]

The wipers on the bus go swish swish swish [gently roll from side to side]

The horn on the bus goes beep beep beep [tap the nose on each beep]

Finish with one more time of “The wheels on the bus go ’round and ’round.”

There are several versions out there. I started at Games to Play with Babies. I’ll have to try Rookie Moms version next!

What are your suggestions?
