Ghotab

You can call them almond (or walnut) crescents, but I think ghotab is infinitely more curiosity inducing.

You can buy them from a Persian bakery.

And of course if you look around a bit, you’ll find a recipe or two so that you can make them.

Yum!

In the meantime, try this new word of the day: shirinee. Ooh!
