When not to send your child to class

Yes, yes, we all want our children to be in class as much as possible, and yay if they keep their sick-a-thons to weekends and family vacation times. That’s what I used to do.

The flu is plowing through the crowds of students here, and many schools have cancelled classes for entire grades due to high absenteeism.

Parents and Teachers, what are your rules on when not to send a sick child to class?

Masterworks Studio’s whole page contains some terrific tips on what to do when your child is sick. I like it so much, I may have posted about it before. The more I read the tips, the more I want to have the page writ hugely large for all to see.

  1. I’m speaking as a parent and a teacher- If the mucus is green, definitely do NOT send them to school. Also, if they are vomiting, definitely keep them home.
