No, no, no….you really really really can’t open a book to the page on basic body parts and expect your young two-year-olds to merrily follow along.
They most certainly will not.
And I’d forgotten that.
This works much better: eight dot stickers. Any size is okay, but the mini ones are good for stick-out-your-tongue concentration.
Put one sticker on your forehead. Wait a moment for parents to help their little ones copy you.
One sticker goes on each of your shoulders.
One sticker goes on each of your knees.
One sticker goes on each of your big toes.
The final sticker goes on your nose.
Nearly inevitable variations as soon as you’re done with that:
a) Oh hey Daddy doesn’t have any stickers! Here, I’ll give you one on your nose.
b) Only two toes? I need a sticker for each of my toes.
c) I put a sticker here. Mommy, what is this? My elbow? Ohhhh!
d) Okay now how do I get all those stickers back on this little strip of paper? Halp!
