The best ice cubes recipe!

Temperatures marched right up into the triple digits today (Fahrenheit), and boy oh boy was I glad I had this ice cube recipe ready to try!

It’s another moldy oldie recipe and definitely a terrific goodie!

Oh don’t forget, as with most online recipes, you reeeeeeaaaaaally hafta read the comments for tips and tricks and tweaks and tons of giggles. One of my favorites so far:

I wish I had found this recipe over the summer. My iced tea and lemonade were so warm. I just knew something was missing. TIP…you have to carry the tray to the freezer VERY SLOWLY so you don’t spill any water. Thank you SO much for posting! My family loved it, so this one’s definitely a keeper!

Summer Drinks: Nutella Milkshakes!

I made it through this past winter without once making a hot Nutella drink.

I congratulated myself.

Then along came the little kitchen with her recipe for Nutella milkshakes, perfect, I suspect, for these warmer temperatures.

Do I have the willpower to resist inhaling Nutella milkshakes? Well, here’s a newly established Summer Rule: when in Nutella Land, it is polite to do as the Nutella People do.

The best boiled water recipe

Moldy oldie but still a terrific goodie: the best boiled water recipe!

I’ve made this recipe several times, and each time I’ve been quite pleased with the results.

When I have more time, I’d like to experiment with the grin-inducing tips and suggestions from the readers’ comments. Someone suggested adding pasta to the recipe. I’m not so sure about that yet.

Another quick peanut butter smoothie for after workouts

After the sugar fest leading up to and including yesterday, my clothes are pointing out that … well, it had been a huuuuge sugar fest.

Not eating after workouts is a mistake I used to make, so I checked the various tips out there. Peanut butter smoothies are, of course, popular, and I’ll be adding the following recipe to my collection.

Just a quick question: do I really have to do the workout first?

Peanut Butter Smoothie

1 cup of milk or soy milk

1 banana, cut into cubes for easier blending

2 tablespoons of peanut butter

1 teaspoon of vanilla

1/2 cup yogurt (optional)

Put all ingredients into a blender and process until smooth. Makes 1 serving.

How to make those hot chocolate sticks

I think you’re supposed to make these hot chocolate sticks and then give them to your nearest and dearest for Valentine’s Day, for birthdays, and, the bestest of all, Just Because Day.

Doesn’t look too complicated, the first step, the making part.

It’s the second part, the giving part, that I am going to have a bit of difficulty with.

Am I supposed to check in with my dentist before I eat these? Or after?
